Stone Sole River is an amazing trio that offers some very refreshing music, chock full of ambiance, evoking the retro yet surprisingly new. Man, this one made me want to break out the florescent posters, the backlight and the bong (not that I would ever do such a thing).

My only criticism of this band is that they started with the wrong song, "Black On White"(not that it's bad, quite the contrary, but they really show their stuff on their third tune, "Ocean Song." This is not only true stoner rock, but so much more. Imagine "The End" by The Doors but much more complex and minus the keyboard. "One Day soon" is reminiscent of wishbone Ash (a band that SSR gigged with, by the way). "Lost Son" has a psychedelic feel to it and a searing guitar that would make Robin Trower proud.

I can't believe that I am reviewing yet another outstanding unsigned band. There is no justice.
