Silver Tongue was formed in November of 2002 in Sutton-in-Ashfiled, Nottinghamshire. The group includes Craig Linacre (lead vocals and guitar), John Parkin (lead guitar), David Hayes (Bass), and Glenn Boddice (Drums and backing vocals). The group’s influences include Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, The Who, The Beatles, Audioslave, The Datsuns and Hell.
Silver Tongue's music is remnant of the traditional hard rock of the 70’s and 80’s. Although this band has only been together for a few years, their music seems quite mature and interconnected. Everything about these songs is smooth, natural and doesn’t seem to be at all forced. The guitars and the percussions intermesh to create a great solid sound complete with good riffs and an active beat. The vocals and lyrics, though a bit lost in the music, fit so smoothly into the music that they are easily taken for granted. After hearing these songs a few times, however, the lyrics and the vocals start to stick out and seem to add more passion to the music. It’s nice to hear a rock band that can rock, write, and sing.
