Penumbra
Devolution
EP [4 Tracks]

1. World of Unknown
2. Scapegoat
3. Below the Surface
4. Imperfect Endings

These guys rock and not just with a capital R. These guys know how to make noise and that’s always a good thing these days. If you like it loud and raw and the blackest of black then you have to listen to these guys. They definitely have that raw edge that anyone looking for a new heavy metal band is looking for at the moment.

Their E.P Penumbra has four great songs that just ROCK and THRASH about like nobody’s business. These guys are here and they are certainly not apologising for it. They seem to not care, which is bloody good in fact. Devolution spring into life with ‘World Of Unknown’ which is a thrashy track with growling vocals. It’s loud proud and most definitely in your face, Fab. It’s one of those tracks that you just don’t know what you are getting from the start of it, slow then manic. The second track is ‘Scapegoat’ which has great changes in the vocals going from hard to soft. This music is black and raw. Track three is called ‘Below The Surface’ which has some funkier sounds included but the growling thrash is still so definitely there. You can imagine loads of whipping heads. The last track on this E.P is ‘Imperf ect Ending’ which is a slower and funkier track than the rest. It’s cool and calm somehow and is a totally different track to the other three, a breath of fresh air really. It’s a nice way to finish the E.P as you know they can do it either way. Rough or gentle.

If you want a sore neck the next day from over exerting your neck muscles then you need this band in your life (or on your Ipod at least). And a sore neck is not a bad thing to have. These guys Rock and if you like it loud and raw then you have to listen to these guys. They have already shown with this E.P they can thrash you, rock you and even soothe you. What more do you want?
