| Track one begins with some really nice sounding feedback. I couldn’t think of a better word than nice, because it is nice - and then everything kicks in and the word nice is but a distant memory. ‘Holocaust in B minor’, starts off in a sludge metal style and after a dirty sounding bass riff the rest of the track belts into raw sounding heavy metal-core. The music levels are OK at first but the vocals - when they eventually come in, are really heavy with a proper throaty growl, however they’re just too loud which affects the volume of the drums.
This is later rectified on track two, Whispers of Vengeance, which is a fully rounded intense metal assault.
The CD ends with B.F.N, a mix of fierce riffs and intricate drumming. The backing vocals have to be mentioned too – they are so low and evil sounding, they almost broke my speakers!
Violate’s demo is as heavy and evil as intense metal should be. If you like doom / extreme / sludge metal, then check out Violate.
