Daddy Long Legs @ The Garage - 5/04/2005

Having heard some (and I mean only a couple of tracks) from Daddy Long Legs, I didn’t really know what to expect from one of their live shows. I knew what I had heard I had liked so anticipation took over. Were they going to rock like I hoped they were going to do?

The three members of Daddy Longs Legs arrive on stage. Only three but they still seem to manage to fill the stage with a cool presence and they start their set. The audience are about five/six deep which is a great crowd and they are all waiting for what the legs are going to give them tonight and they do not fail to deliver. They rock and move around the stage like they were born for this. Vocals shared between the band are cool and the lyrics funny. The Bass player is manic and a bit scary at times but a great thing to see. They sail through their set like a boat on water and the audience loves it, me too.

I came here tonight to review a new band that I had heard a little of and knew nothing about, but I left the Garage at about 11.30pm a Daddy Long Legs fan. They have all that and a whole bunch more and looking at their fan base that can only get better. They seem to have the fans that are willing to go and see them, and that is what truly matters. They rock and have something on stage you don’t really find very much of these days in new bands, something that makes you want to watch, a definite show. Thanks guys for a treat. Everyone else…….. go check them out!!!!

9/10
